The Last of Us: Remastered for PS4 Close To Going Gold Confirms Naughty Dog, Gameplay at 1080p/60 FPS Incoming?
Naughty Dog has just announced that The Last of Us: Remastered is pretty close to “Going Gold” i.e development work and coding is almost complete. Jason Gregory, Lead Programmer at Naughty made the announcement via Twitter. He stated: “Great work @Naughty_Dog! Gold release candidate for #TheLastofUsRemastered #PS4 is in final format QA. Now we wait” and shared the following image as proof.
When asked whether it indeed took development team just over an hour to make the disc (as per the details provided in the image)? Jason replied:
“Yes, building four pkgs (one per SKU) and four Blu-ray ISOs took over an hour, which is actually pretty good. :)”
When asked what does that SKU in the code refers to? Jason replied:
“SKU refers to region (i.e. languages on-disc), like N. America vs Europe. And there are 5 not 4 actually.”
Another interesting thing that was there in the image was termed “Orbis (internal codename for Playstation 4)”. Naughty Dog’s Drew Thaler explained the reason behind “Orbis termed existence”:
“ever tried to rename 100 different parts of a giant chain of tools and code? 🙂 if it ain’t broke…”
Now that The Last of Us: Remastered is pretty close to achieving Gold status, expect to see some actual in-game gameplay footage running at 1080p/60 FPS. The Last of Us: Remastered is scheduled to launch on July 29.
